James Waylen has written two full and comprehensive histories of Devizes. His Chronicles were written in 1839 and his larger and more accurate History of Devizes was written in 1859. These are excellent sources of information for those interested in Devizes. I have found other History online books about Calne, Chippenham and Marlborough and these are fascinating too.
2) Journals of the Wiltshire Archaeology and Natural History Society Journals online. This is a valuable resource on Wiltshire archaeology, and history. The volumes included are from 1854 to 1908. There is an index provided too.
